GSM/GPRS Modem for data sending and reception using cell phone infrastructure. The modem has additional AT commands that add functionality for a direct connection between devices. It has RS-232 and RS-485 output ports (optional: with isolation).
GSM/GPRS Modem is a device used for data exchange between two or more points by means of cell phones technologies. It can be used for fax sending and reception, data exchange, SMS sending and reception- text messages.
It is compatible with CSD technologies (for communication through voice channel- only where compatible) and with GPRS.
This modem has a CINTERION ENGINE, to which AT commands functions such as operating mode selection, single command data connection, initial commands execution, reset configuration with real time clock and configuration of simple mode operation were added.
One of its main features are the three operation modes, easily programmable through the AT+GNMODO command, that enable its use as a transparent module- without initial configuration-, as a CSD modem for data sending and reception and as a GPRS modem for data exchange. I.e. the modem takes the necessary configuration with a single command.
This modem has a function mode to establish a direct communication with a remote device with no need of VPN or IP, using the AT+GND command. Only the telephone number of the remote device is needed.
Communication with the exterior can be RS-232 or RS-485 and optionally RS-485 with isolation of up to 2.5Kv.
It has five LED indicators on the upper part, to indicate the modem and DIP-SWITCHES status, for configuration purposes. It is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail, and has a connection for an external wide range power supply (9 to 36 Vdc).
It is compatible with CINTERION AT commands, supports 4 GSM bands (850/900/1800/1900 MHZ), with AT commands AT (Hayes 3GPP TS 27.007, TS 27.005), has STACK TCP/IP, internet services, GPRS data transmission, CSD- up to 14.4 kbps V.110-, SMS sending and reception, fax and voice channel.
This product has a design based on modular electronics so, if any of its components fail, can be easily replaced with no need of replacing the whole device.
