Client: Research Institution, Winnipeg, Canada.
Objectives: The object of this system was the development of a SCADA solution capable of monitoring dams made with sand bags in order to detect possible structural damages in the retaining wall. Apart from that, the system had to be installed simply and quickly. The system had to solve three particular challenges:
- Development of the hardware: this included the remote unit firmware, the electronics development and the integration with the sensor.
- Wireless communications with the SCADA contemplating redundancy and MESH networks.
- Software component to monitor the whole system and to store historic data.
